This turned out to be Boots Hetherington’s last meeting as Commissioners Chairman. Newly-elected Larry Padora will take over as Chairman when the board reorganizes on Jan. 2, 2024.
It was also a noteworthy meeting for who wasn’t there. This was George Halcovage’s last meeting as Commissioner. However, he wasn’t in attendance because his Courthouse access was banned the week prior by Sheriff Joe Groody over a reported “incident” about which details are limited.
