A woman was arrested Wednesday after police learned she may be a threat against a school in Pottsville.
According to State Police-Frackville, Troopers arrested a 40-year-old woman on Wednesday after they received a report that she may have been armed and going to pick up her daughter at Gillingham Charter School in Pottsville.
When they learned of this potential threat, police began searching for the woman. Troopers from the Frackville barracks spotted the woman and she was detained, police say.
Police add that the woman appeared to be under the influence of methamphetamine and arrested for driving under the influence.
The woman was not in possession of any firearm at the time of her arrest. She was taken to Lehigh Valley hospital in Pottsville for a mental health evaluation.
Any charges against the woman have not been docketed or available at the time of publication.
A local media outlet reports Gillingham dismissed students according to their regular schedule on Wednesday.
