πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Gerald Reading, 75 – Served Aboard USS Tattnall

Gerald Reading, 75, of Schuylkill Haven passed away Wednesday, November 29th, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Gerald Reading, 75, of Schuylkill Haven passed away Wednesday, November 29th, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Pottsville on July 27, 1948, he was the son of the late Gwendoline N. (Woolmer) and John M. Reading.

Gerald was the husband of Karen J. (Krammes) Reading.

He was a 1966 graduate from Schuylkill Haven High School.

He served 4 years as a Radioman aboard the USS Tattnall (DDG-19) Guided Missile Destroyer in the Northern Atlantic and Mediterranean Seas.

Gerald was employed as a machine operator at American Argo Corporation from 1970-1994. He then worked as a forklift operator at Lowe’s Distribution Warehouse.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 38.Β 

In addition to his wife, Gerald is survived by a daughter, Shelly D. Boyd, companion of Douglas Adams of Gordon; a son, Scott G. Reading, fiancΓ© of Trish Taylor of Schuylkill Haven; a brother, Brian Reading, husband of Judy, of Schuylkill Haven; a granddaughter, Taylor G. Reading; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Gerald is preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Jo Reading.Β 

Services and interment are private at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville
