Firefighters in Pottsville were summoned to the KFC location on Mauch Chunk St. in Pottsville Thursday night for a report of smoke in the restaurant.
A call came in to Schuylkill County’s 9-1-1 communication center a little before 11 p.m. The restaurant was getting a delivery at the time.
According to emergency dispatches, there had been a small fire that allegedly started in a freezer. Calls to the 9-1-1 center indicated that a wiring problem with the freezer may have caused the fire and smoke to accumulate.
