Elaine J. Weaver, 79, of Cressona passed away Monday while at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Bethlehem.
Born in Pottsville, December 6, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Laelas Gaskins.
Elaine was a graduate of Minersville Area High School. She then went on to graduate from Ford Business School in Pottsville.
Elaine enjoyed working on puzzles and playing parcheesi. She also had a love for riding the bumper cars at Knoebel’s Amusement Park.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her four sisters, Alice Heck, Joanne Whiteash, Carol “Tootsie” Thompson, and Shirley Plefka.
Elaine is survived by her husband Jay Weaver with whom she had been with over 60 years. She is also survived by her children, Scott J. Gaskins, husband to Jesse Kline of Minersville and Shannon D. Dougherty of Cressona. She is also survived by her grandchildren Erin and Erik Dougherty along with several nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held for the family. Grabowski Funeral Home is entrusted with the services. Interment will be held at a later date on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
