Llewellyn “Lew” R. Watkins, Jr., 83, of Schuylkill Haven passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday.
Born in Pottsville, February 27, 1940, he was the son of the late Llewellyn Sr. and Thelma Dunheimer Watkins.
Lew was a 1957 graduate of Pottsville Area High School.
He worked for the local ACME Market throughout his life in the Dairy Department.
Lew was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Schuylkill Haven.
Lew was a lifelong Cardinals fan, he loved visiting baseball parks around the country. When not on the road, he could often be found watching a game on TV with his cat Holly on his lap.
Lew is survived by his wife Susan in addition to his daughter Lori Watkins, wife of Pete of Downingtown, PA. He is also survived by two grandchildren Macy and Evan Watkins of Downingtown, PA as well as his sisters Sue Kraft of Myrtle Beach, SC and Sonia Meck of Maslen, OH.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 17th at Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven at 11 a.m. Family and friends are welcome from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Interment will take place at a later date on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
