Reggie Crawford made his fourth pitching start of the season for the Single-A San Jose Giants on Sunday afternoon.
Once again, the Frackville native was not used for a long stretch, just 2 innings, and his Giants were defeated by the Visalia Rawhide, 3-2.
Over the course of those 2 innings, Crawford struck out 3, bringing his season K total to 13 in just 7⅓ innings. Crawford did allow a home run and plunked his first batter of the season.
For the Rochester Red Wings, Travis Blankenhorn had his 26-game on-base streak snapped on Sunday when he failed to reach base during the team’s 5-2 loss to the Worcester Red Sox.
The Pottsville native pinch-hit for first baseman Matt Adams in the 1st inning during Sunday’s game and in 3 at-bats, Blankenhorn struck out twice and lined out to right field.
The Red Wings will return to action on Tuesday at home vs. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Yankees)
