Mary A. Witmer, 65, of Tower City, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family, following a six month courageous fight with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Lebanon, July 9, 1957, a daughter of the late John and Mary Reynolds Walstrum. Mary was a graduate of the Tulpehocken High School.
She was employed as a public services assistant by the Northern Dauphin Library, Lykens.
In her spare time, Mary enjoyed reading, traveling, and gardening. She took great pride in her flower garden. Her family was the center of her world. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and her beloved cat “Puss”.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother John Walstrum, and a sister, Elizabeth Keppley.
Surviving are her husband, Harry G. Witmer, to whom they would have celebrated 33 years of marriage on June 9th; her children, Olivia Moore, Harrisburg, Farrah Howton (Steve), Lansford, Shannon Pridemore, Pine Grove, Brandi Witmer (Justin), Ohio, Erin Witmer, Tower City, and Adam Witmer, Tower City; eleven grandchildren; one great grandson; seven sisters, Donna Ruf, Lebanon, Julie Blair, Lebanon, Barbara Wideman, Bethel, Betsy Beck, Jonestown, Ruth Brugger, Bethel, Christine Kreider, Annville, numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., with her dear friend Rev. Ray Holland officiating.
