A Shamokin woman is in Schuylkill County Prison after police arrested her Wednesday, charging her with the overdose death of a Tremont man.
According to State Police in Schuylkill Haven, 37-year-old Ashley Fritz, of Shamokin, was arrested on Wednesday. She’s currently being held at the prison in Pottsville after she was unable to post the $50,000 cash bail imposed by District Judge David Rossi on Wednesday morning.
Police are charging Fritz with a first-degree felony of Drug Delivery Resulting in Death for the August 2022 death of Sean Douglas Tosh, of Tremont. Tosh was found dead in his home on Aug. 24 last year.
A police investigation revealed that Fritz purchased and sold heroin to Tosh prior to his death. Police say Fritz admitted in an interview conducted at the Haven barracks that she purchased the heroin with the intent of getting it to Tosh.
Fritz, police say, was on supervised release at the time of her arrest on Wednesday, stemming from a previous conviction on a Possession with Intent to Deliver charge.
