DEVELOPING STORY: Two people are confirmed dead during an early-Wednesday morning house fire in the Lake Wynonah community.
According to State Police in Schuylkill Haven, fire crews were sent to 1027 Indian Dr., Wayne Township, at 5:35 a.m. for a house fire.
While fire crews were dousing the flames, two people were found dead inside the home. The victims’ names have not been identified.
Police say the Troop L Major Case and the Troop L Fire Marshal teams are actively investigating this morning’s fire in Lake Wynonah to determine how the blaze started and how the victims of it died.
Both victims were taken by members of the Schuylkill County Coroner’s office on Wednesday, police say.
Crews from Summit Station, Schuylkill Haven, Friedensburg, Pine Grove, and one unit from Berks County worked to extinguish the fire.
