Grace Elizabeth Snyder, 94 – Devoted to Helping Family

Grace Elizabeth Snyder, age 94, died February 23, 2023, at Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

She was born on March 26, 1928 in Spring Glen, the daughter of [the late] William and Stella (Smeltz) Reed.

She had worked in the past for the former Muskin Shoe and Johnson Baily shoe factory. Prior to retirement, she had worked as a CNA at the Friendly Nursing Home in Pitman.

She was a member and helped with the ladies auxiliary of the Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church, Leck Kill.

Grace enjoyed traveling, baking, cooking, spending time with her friends but her greatest joy was serving others. She was devoted to helping her family until the day God called her home.

She was the widow of Chester L. Snyder (2009), they had been married for 60 years.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Helena) Snyder, Mechanicsburg and Sandra (David) Kehler, Pitman; Brothers, Wayne (Ruth) Reed, Dalmatia and Glenn Reed, Middletown; Grandchildren, Gregory (Lori) Snyder, Raleigh, NC, Mike (Marybeth) Snyder, Linglestown, Sara (Craig) Love, Hershey and Alissa Snyder, Pottsville; Great Grandchildren, Alexandra Snyder, Ava Snyder, Evelyn Love, Benjamin Snyder, and Jacob Snyder.

She was preceded in death by brothers and sister-in-law’s, Paul (Betty) Reed, Roy Reed and Allen (Edna) Reed; Sister and brother-in-law’s, Mary (Paul) Grunden and Elsie (George) Rothermel.

Services held Wednesday, March 1, at Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church, Leck Kill. Rev. Krista Keisling and Rev. Todd Wolfe officiated. Burial followed services at Jacob’s Cemetery, Pitman.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations may be made to her church.
