Betty June Marks of Minersville, passed June 25, 2023 after 94 trips around the sun.
She enjoyed recounting stories of her childhood and a career championing a local drug and alcohol rehabilitation program.
She was an avid reader with an extensive vocabulary and an interest in learning absolutely anything and everything.
She loved nature, especially trees. She spent her 90’s in Oregon where she never took one inch of moss or a fallen pine cone for granted.
Her favorite poem was Trees by Joyce Kilmer, and she would often quote “I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree.”
She joins her parents, Roy and Mildred (Foster)Troutman as well as her eldest daughter, and son in law Myra Marks Ackerman and William Ackerman of South Carolina.
She is lovingly remembered by her family.
She is survived by daughter Barbara Griffiths of Pottsville, granddaughter Brittany Farro with her husband Anthony Farro of Oregon, as well as Anthony’s family including his brother James Farro as well as his sister, Amy Wrigley, and her son Ethan Wrigley.
South Carolina family include granddaughter Nikki Crosby and great grand children Zacary Ranly and Wyatt, grandson Ricky Erickson with his wife Tracy, and great grandchildren Jamie and Abigail, grandson Michael Erickson and great grandchildren Skyla and Dawson. Florida family include daughter Patricia and her husband Franklin Winberry Sr., grandchildren Franklin Winberry Jr with his wife Jessica, great grandchildren Taylor and Noah, grandson Jason Winberry with his wife Tammy, son Peter Marks Jr., grandson Peter Marks III, and great grandson, Peter Marks IV.
