Cyril Rushanan, 75, previous owner of the Saint Clair and Pine Grove Laundromats, passed away at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown on Wednesday evening with his loving family at his side.
Born in Pottsville, he was the son of the late John and Anna Biletz Rushanan. He attended Cass Township School District. He was a charter member of Duncott Hose company, serving on the board for many years, and he was a member of St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, Minersville.
Cyril loved spending time with his family, cooking, hosting family picnics, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed going to car shows, family vacations in Canada and Wildwood, NJ, and attending events by the New Individuals.
Preceding him in death was his wife, the former Mary Bertasavage in 2016: eight siblings, Emil, John Charles, Joseph and George Rushanan, Irene Purcell, Betty Ann Leiss and Mary Elko, and his faithful dog, Whitey.
Surviving are two children, Monica Meza, Llewellyn; Devin Rushanan and his wife, Deborah, Saint Clair; five grandchildren, Jerimiah Hendricks and fiancé Rachel, Mechanicsburg, Mary Strausser and her husband Michael, Auburn, Ben Hendricks and his wife Ashley, Llewellyn, Chase and Noah Rushanan, St. Clair; ten great grandchildren, Sophia Hendricks Noon, Lydia and Kellen Hendricks, Paige and Molly DeTraglia, Jackson, Eli, Luca and Olive Strausser, and Grayson Hendricks. He is also survived by his remaining siblings Anna Dunmoyer, Schuylkill Haven and Michael Rushanan, Odenton, Maryland; nieces and nephews.
The family will accept visitors at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Monday from 6:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 6:00 A.M. Visitation will end promptly at 9:15 A.M. when procession will form. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in St. Matthew the Evangelist R.C. Church, 135 Spruce Street, Minersville. Interment will follow in Llewellyn Community Cemetery, Branch Township. The family prefers donations to the Special Olympics PA- Team Schuylkill.
