It was really getting nice with days in late-January in the 40s and even above 50 degrees. But, alas, all good things come to an end and that brings us to this week’s weather forecast.
After a rather mild Monday, that thing we call winter will be making its presence felt in not-so-subtle ways this week.
Temperatures will drop like a stone through the rest of this week in Schuylkill County.
However, there’s almost no snow in the immediate future for us here in the coal region.
So, yes, winter’s back but in cold only.
Winter Weather Returns to Schuylkill County
Monday was a nice day here in the coal region. And you should have bottled it.
Today is going to feel much more like winter with a high of only 35 degrees. Later this week, you’ll be dreaming of how nice it was on Tuesday, unfortunately.
Temperatures continue to drop into the upcoming weekend.
We can expect a mostly sunny sky over Pottsville on Wednesday but temperatures will struggle to get above freezing.
Thursday’s a little warmer with a high of 38 but then some really cold air moves in in time for the end of the week.
Schuylkill County will see a low temperature of just 19 on Thursday night. And on Friday, the high temperature here will only hit around 24.
It’ll be slightly colder on Saturday, with a forecast high temperature of 20 degrees.
The Friday night low temperature could get close to 0. A low of 4 degrees is forecast for Pottsville on Friday. And a low of 16 is expected on Saturday before more seasonable air moves back in for the start of next week.
