Lillie Anne Starr, 83, of Mary D, died on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at home.
She was the wife of Lester Starr with whom she celebrated 58 years of marriage this past October.
Born in Middleport, on July 29, 1939, Lillie was a daughter of the late Clarence and Lillian (Myers) Stephens.
She graduated from the former Blythe Township School in 1957.
Affectionately called “Dynamite” by husband Lester, Lillie lived for her family and enjoyed taking care of her dogs.
She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
In addition to her husband, Lillie is survived by sons, Thomas Parsons and Michael Starr both of Mary D; daughters, Dawn Lucas of Colorado and Lesa Gooding of Chester Springs; grandchildren, Alison, Jessica, Clarence, Cassandra, William, Ember, Elexus, Amanda, and David; great grandchildren, Trent and Layne; sisters, Linda Purugganan of New Jersey, Charlaine Kolbush of Tamaqua, and Michelle Flemming of Orwigsburg; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by brothers, Larry and Robert. Services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua.
Call 9-10 AM on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lillie’s name may be made to the Mary D Fire Company, PO Box 376, Mary D, PA 17952-0376.
