National Weather Service has issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for Schuylkill and surrounding counties starting Sunday afternoon, lasting into the wee hours of Monday morning.
The WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY goes into effect from 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22 and lasts until 3 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 23.
NWS forecasts several hours of snow to fall before a bag of mixed precipitation or freezing rain begins.
In total, Schuylkill County could receive up to 3 inches of snow but much less is likely, according to the NWS local forecast. Expect about an inch of snow through the duration of the storm, NWS forecasts for Pottsville.
More snow than mixed precip is predicted in more northern locations.
Slippery road conditions are possible during this minor winter storm.

From my understanding, if you look at the Schuylkill River as a dividing line between Philly and Jersey, if the storm comes up the coast east of the river(Jersey side), we have rain…If it comes up west of the river(Philly side), we have snow……
