Bissell Cordless Multi-Surface Wet Dry Vacuums have been recalled by the manufacturer due to a fire hazard.
These vacuums were sold at Walmart stores nationwide as well as at the following online stores:

- walmart.com
- qvc.com
- amazon.com
- costco.com
- fingerhut.com
- acehardware.com
- kohls.com
- wayfair.com
The recall involves the following model numbers on the Bissell Cordless Multi-Surface Wet Dry Vacuums:
- 2551
- 2551W
- 25519
Model numbers on the affected products can be seen when its clean water tank is removed.
Bissell has received 66 reports of the vacuum smoking and giving off a burning smell. There are 5 reports of the battery pack catching fire. In 3 of those incidents, property damage was reported. One person has been injured due to a burn.
Affected customers can contact Bissell for a free battery pack replacement. In the meantime, they should stop using these vacuums. They can take the vacuum to a Bissell authorized service provider or schedule a free in-home visit from a technician who will replace the battery pack.
