Police say a Schuylkill County man recently set his own truck on fire.
According to information released from State Police in Schuylkill Haven, two Troopers were doing a routine patrol near King’s Village shopping plaza outside Minersville at about 11 p.m. Monday.
As Troopers were passing the shops, they noticed a fully-involved pickup truck in the parking lot of King’s Village.
Fire companies from Llewellyn and Mar Lin were called to the scene to put the fire out on the truck. Before the fire was put out, another vehicle in the lot was damaged by the flames coming from the truck.
Police stayed at the scene of the blaze and their investigation – which included questioning the vehicle’s owner – they determined that 20-year-old Donovan Tobin, of Branchdale, had set his own truck on fire.
They say Tobin admitted to setting his truck on fire in the lot. Tobin is now facing arson, mischief and other related charges in connection to this incident at King’s Village earlier this week.
