Gas Hits $4.62 But No One Here is Really Laughing

The price for a gallon of gas in at least one part of Schuylkill County hit $4.62 on Friday.

And all we can say is, “DA F—!”

 

New Record Gas Price in Schuylkill County Really Hits Home

We spotted the new record gas price at two stations in the Schuylkill Haven area on Friday.

The $4.62 gas price is way more than the average AAA is reporting for Schuylkill County. On Friday, AAA is reporting the average price of regular gas is $4.46.

Not lost in the discussion is the absurd cost of diesel fuel right now. At the gas station where we stopped, a gallon of diesel was $6.69. That is considerably higher than the $6.19 average price AAA is reporting.

Those AAA averages are new records for Schuylkill County, regardless.

This recent spike comes after gas prices had settled down – relatively speaking – after eclipsing the $4 mark. But they’ve been steadily climbing after steadying around $4.19 for a while.

A week ago, the AAA reported average price was $4.28 per gallon. A month ago, it was $4.25. A year ago seems like 10 years ago. The price of gas was $3.04 at this time in 2021.

New in Town?

We realize the significance of the whole 4-6-2 thing may be lost on some reading this. That number combination happens to be the phone exchange for Shenandoah (or Shendo, Chendo, etc.) and for whatever reason, it’s become some sort of a war cry locally … 4-6-2, da f***!
