We don’t report much on high school sports these days but couldn’t let this incredible moment go unnoticed.
It happened Tuesday night during the Jim Thorpe vs. Pottsville Schuylkill League boys’ basketball game.
Pottsville came into Tuesday night’s game undefeated in league play. The Olympians trail the Crimson Tide in Division 1 of the league but are having a fine season of their own.
Well, it was definitely Jim Thorpe’s night on Tuesday. The Olympians ruined Pottsville’s chance at a perfect regular league season, winning the game, 62-46.
But you have to check out what happened at the end of the 3rd quarter.
Jim Thorpe’s Derryl Fisher grabbed the rebound on a Pottsville 3-pointer that glanced off the front of the rim. Fisher collects the ball, pulls it back into his right hand and whips it the full length of the Olympians’ home court, and gets nothing but net as the buzzer sounds.
