Police say their investigation into McMunn started in early 2021. A tip on his activity was submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
That tip alleged that someone at a residence in the 300 block of Hazle St. in Tamaqua had uploaded a child porn video to the adult site Pornhub.
The State Police Computer Crime Unit executed a search warrant on this property on April 7, 2021, a place police say McMunn was residing. During the search raid, police seized electronic devices they say had videos and other images that would qualify as child pornography.
State Police Trooper Brian Kundick was able to obtain an arrest warrant for McMunn on Thursday.
Court papers show McMunn has a Halifax, Dauphin County, address. Police also list McMunn as having a Pottsville address.
He’s due back in court for a Preliminary Hearing on Jan. 25.
