Schuylkill County Commissioners are expected to appoint Paul Datte to replace Chris Hobbs in the Solicitor’s office at the Courthouse.
Per the meeting agenda for the first Commissioners meeting of 2022, Datte would be transferred from the Solicitor’s role at the Controller’s office. Datte has previously served as Commissioners’ Solicitor.
Commissioners will vote on the appointment on Wednesday.
Hobbs had been one of three County Solicitors but vacated the position when he was elected to Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in the November 2021 General Election.
This would be a part-time role for Datte, as Assistant County Solicitor. Commissioners will vote Wednesday on Datte’s appointment and, if approved, he’d get a salary of $38,683.
Replacing Datte in the Controller’s office as Solicitor would be Sudhir Patel, a Pottsville-based attorney. Patel would make $7,985 in that role at the Controller’s office.
