Ellen J. McLaren, 90 – Elementary School Teacher

Ellen J. McLaren, age 90, formerly of Frackville, died October 12 at Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Born in Frackville she was the daughter of the late Dartnell C. “Mickey” and Helen (Kershner) McLaren.

She was a graduate of Frackville High School and received her BA degree from Greenville College.

She was an elementary school teacher and worked at Palmer Township Elementary School in Easton and had resided in Macungie and Easton.

She was a member of the Faith Evangelical Free Church in Allentown and a charter member of the former Pilgrim Holiness Church in Frackville.

She enjoyed reading, traveling and watching TV. Her philanthropic generosity supported various missionaries over many years.

Preceding her in death were here brothers H. James McLaren Sr., Charles McLaren and a sister Ann Hall. Survivors include her nieces and nephews H. James McLaren Jr. and his wife Linda of Mahanoy City, Kim Schaude and her husband Jim of Lehighton, Elaine Fucci and her husband Paul of Gordon and Daniel Mc Laren and his wife Colleen of Willow Grove, a sister in law Barbara McLaren of Levittown and great nieces and nephews.
