Stanley J. Pogash, 97, Ashland, passed away Tuesday morning, October 12, 2021 at Broad Mountain Manor, Frackville.
Born in Bucks Patch, May 11, 1924, he was the son of the late Albert and Veronica Pogash. He is the last member of the Pogash family.
He was a 61 year member of the Washington Fire Co., and a member of the Ashland Fire Police, Washington Fire Co. Community Ambulance, American Legion, Elks, and Electrical Union IBEW. He was a World War II Veteran. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and devoted his life to his family.
Stanley was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean, who passed away August 2, 2020 and by his sisters: Helen Kane, Stella Britch, Mary Kane, Theresa Pogash and by his brothers: Frank Pogash, Stephen Pogash, Thomas Pogash, and John Pogash. Surviving are his two daughters, Jean-Louise, wife of Thomas Hepler, Ashland; and Dianne, wife of James Mensch, Ashland. 3 grandchildren: Brian Hepler, Stacey Grassi, and Stefanie Ott. 5 great-grandchildren : Madeline, Amelia, Liliana, Zachary, and Carly. Nieces and nephews.
Services will be at the convenience of the family with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Rev. Brian Miller officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fountain Springs. Memorial contrubutions can be made to the Washington Fire Co. 1307 Center St., Ashland, PA.
