Stanley P. Brozana Jr., 72 – Served 37 Years as Orwigsburg Police Chief
Robert Lee Atkinson, 66, of Leesburg, VA, formerly of Minersville, passed away Tuesday, October 5th, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD.
He was born in Woodbury , NJ on April 13, 1955, a son of the late Dorothy (Schweinhart) and Eugene Moore. He was raised in Minersville by his aunt and uncle the late Blanche and Levan Atkinson.
He was the husband of Elizabeth Ann (Smith) Atkinson.
Bob was a graduate of Minersville Area High School Class of 1973, Penn State University, and attended George Mason and Strayer University.
He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was employed as an electrical Engineer at the Army Research lab from 1983-2014. Bob is survived by his wife, Ann, a step-daughter, Dana Bosmajian, a brother, William E. Moore, cousins, nieces, nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 11th at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc.in Minersville, with calling hours from 7:00 am to 12:00 noon. Interment Mount Peace Cemetery. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral home Inc., Minersville entrusted with the arrangements.
