A Shenandoah man walking along Ringtown Blvd. (aka Route 924) was taken to Reading Hospital Tuesday morning after he was struck by a vehicle.
According to information from State Police in Frackville, Joseph Piekarsky, 31, was walking along the right side shoulder of Route 924 at about 5:30 Tuesday morning.
About one-tenth of a mile south of the highway’s intersection with Pennsylvania Ave., which leads to Shenandoah Heights, Piekarsky was hit by a vehicle driven by Dorothy Laureti, 80, of Shenandoah, who was headed south on Route 924, toward Shenandoah.
Police do not reveal the extent of Piekarsky’s injuries but was taken from the scene by Schuylkill EMS en route to Reading.
The driver in this incident was not injured.
