Clear Science – Wolf Says Masks Must Be Worn in Schools … But Not Until Next Week

Whenever you hear someone complain that someone “doesn’t believe in science” or they’ll argue “the science is clear” it makes you wonder if they took the same science classes as you.

Their “science” doesn’t make sense. It defies logic. It’s bunk.

And that’s just what Pennsylvanians heard today: logic-defying bunk science from the mouth of the greatest conspiracy theory purveyor in our Commonwealth’s history, Gov. Tom Wolf.

“The Science is Clear.” Wolf Orders Masks on Pennsylvania Kids Starting Sept. 7

Wolf today ordered face masks to be worn inside all K-12 public schools, early learning programs, and at child care providers.

But not right away. This “order” doesn’t go into effect until 12:01 a.m. on Sept. 7. Because, as he literally says in a statement today, “The science is clear.”

That clear science must indicate that if you want to stop the spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19 which is “highly transmissible and dangerous to the unvaccinated, many of whom are children too young to receive the vaccine,” according to the Governor’s own words, you want to give it a week before you implement a mandate on what you believe is an effective means of stopping the spread of said virus.

Today’s decision makes decisions from last year, like you have to order a meal with a beer on account of COVID safety, look almost logical.

OK, no. That was still really stupid.

And so is today’s politically-motivated announcement from Wolf.

In this same statement today, Wolf said he allowed local school boards to make their own decision on mandating face masks on students, teachers, and school staff. But apparently too many school districts angered the King of Harrisburg and opted against a mask mandate. But it’s not their fault.

School boards were bullied, apparently. Because Wolf apparently doesn’t believe any public officials have the brains or backbone to make decisions independent of his guidance.

Wolf resorted to blaming an “aggressive nationwide campaign” that’s “spreading misinformation about mask-wearing and pressuring and intimidating school districts to reject mask policies that will keep kids safe and in school.”

He called this aggressive nationwide misinformation campaign “especially dangerous and challenging” because, after all, he wants to “keep kids in school and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.”

Unfortunately for Wolf, none of what he said today was true and if it was, his decision to wait a week before implementing a mask mandate is reckless and “especially dangerous,” as he puts it.

If the masks are as effective as his science apparently says, he’d want to wrap them around the faces of those poor, innocent little kids he’s trying so desperately to protect.

By waiting a week, it shows this is purely a political stunt and the Governor’s “science” is trash.

absolutely agree! the disingenuousness of public sector types can be appalling…common sense says if he really believes the science, he’d of implimented the mask mandate effective immediately.

Nothing makes sense. Zero logic. Even less science. And this is only the beginning … or the middle. It’s definitely not over.

And how people STILL believe – maybe more than ever – that government is going to solve their problems is just baffling.
