A Kutztown man died Sunday evening in a crash on Route 61 in Port Clinton.
According to State Police in Schuylkill Haven, at about 6:15 p.m. Sunday, 68-year-old Guy Benedict was turning left from Blue Mountain Rd. onto Route 61 going south.
As Benedict attempted to get onto the highway, his motorcycle was met by a pickup truck driven by a 36-year-old man from Levittown.
The front driver’s side of the pickup truck collided with the rear of Benedict’s motorcycle, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
Benedict died at the scene of the crash.
Police have not identified the driver of the truck. He escaped injury in the crash.
State Police say they were assisted at the scene of the crash by Tilden Township PD, Hamburg EMS, Port Clinton Community Fire Dept., and Union Fire Co.
