Schuylkill County Historical Society is hosting a pysanka (or pysanky) egg making class later this month.
The class will be conducted by Georgine Postupak-Borchick, an expert in making this traditionally Ukrainian and Eastern European craft.
It’s being held at the Society’s headquarters in the former Female Grammar School on N. Centre St. in Pottsville on Saturday, May 15, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
There is a cost associated with this class. It’s $35 for the general public and only $30 for Historical Society members. There’s also a required $16 take home kit for the class.
If you’re interested in attending this rare opportunity to learn more about pysanka eggs and how to make them, call the Historical Society at 570-622-7540.
