Police say a man and woman – at least three sheets to the wind – invaded a home in Sheppton Sunday afternoon in a clumsy manner but left without taking anything.
According to State Police in Frackville, the incident started around 4 p.m. Sunday at a home along W. Pine St. in the East Union Twp. village.
The couple – a man and a woman – showed up at the house, “extremely intoxicated” and riding on an ATV. Once their arrived, they tried breaking into the home.
Police say the woman was laying on the porch and tried to open the front door. That apparently didn’t work.
The man in the drunken duo tried his hand at the side entrance to the home. He was able to force open the double door there, pulling the screws out of the doorjamb to do so. A Plexiglass flap on an inner door was also forced open and the man was able to unlock it.
Once they had access to the home, the man and woman broke in but left “almost immediately” while taking nothing and not doing any more damage to the home.
The couple then got back on their ATV and drove off from the scene on Pine St.
