“Pink” Supermoon Over Pottsville – It’s Not Pink at All

So, tonight’s the big “pink” supermoon, the first of two supermoons of 2021.

The next supermoon is actually next month and it’s known as the Flower Moon.

Pink Moon April 2021 – Supermoon

Just like tonight’s moon wasn’t pink at all, we don’t expect next months to look like flowers.

But despite it being well known that the Pink Moon, super or not, is not actually pink, you’re bound to see a lot of photos of the moon tonight that actually look pink. But it’s not. So don’t go thinking that your moon is defective.

As you can see in the photo above – taken from the sky above Pottsville tonight – or by just looking outside, the moon is actually still just white and gray and looking all moon-like.

We exercised our Photoshop skills a tad and made a photo of the same moon, but pink …

It’s bright though. Last night wasn’t even a supermoon and we had to put sunglasses on in bed because it was shining through the windows so brightly.
