A Pottsville man is charged with murder in the stabbing death of an Orwigsburg man following a road rage incident Monday.

According to a State Police in Schuylkill Haven, Tamiir Whitted was arraigned Monday night, charged with first- and third-degree murder. Police say Whitted stabbed an Orwigsburg man, George Marcincin, to death on Route 61 Monday afternoon.

Earlier Monday evening, State Police in Schuylkill Haven said Whitted and Marcincin were engaged in a fight along Route 61 just outside Orwigsburg at about 2 p.m. The two were headed southbound on the highway and began “gesturing” to each other in their vehicles. Both stopped along Route 61, got out of their vehicles, and a physical altercation escalated quickly.

During the fight, police say Whitted pulled a knife on Marcincin and stabbed him to death, leaving his body along the highway.

Whitted got back into his vehicle, a Honda Accord, and drove off. Orwigsburg Police attempted to stop Whitted but he engaged them in a short chase that ended just a few miles down the highway near Deer Lake, where Whitted gave himself up. He was taken into custody and taken to the State Police barracks in Summit Station for questioning.

On his “perp walk” out of the barracks Monday night, Whitted is quoted by WNEP-TV saying he was trying to defend himself from the “older gentleman” and that he just wanted to talk during the road rage incident. Whitted is 29, according to court records. Marcincin was 38.

A knife is one heck of a way to converse. Guess leaving the body, by the road was conversing too?
Call the police and pull over in a safe spot. One more example of why more and more people are driving with the camera recording, these days.
He needs to share a cell with Megan/Magen (however its spelled) Hall.
