All adults in Pennsylvania can begin scheduling appointments for a COVID-19 vaccine starting April 13.
That announcement came today from Gov. Tom Wolf, who says this change is schedule is a bump up in the timeline to get vaccines to more residents.
Phase 1C of the vaccine rollout was to start today in Pennsylvania, and it has. Phase 1B of that plan started recently, following a tailing off of vaccines administered – at least locally – among those grouped into Phase 1A
Phase 1C includes so-called “essential workers” with these jobs, according to the PA Dept. of Health:
- Transportation and logistics
- Water and wastewater
- Food service
- Housing construction
- Finance, including bank tellers
- Information technology
- Communications
- Energy, including nuclear reactors
- Legal services
- Federal, state, county and local government workers, including county election workers, elected officials and members of the judiciary and their staff
- Media
- Public safety
- Public health workers
All Pennsylvania Adults Can Schedule COVID Vaccine Doses Starting Tuesday, April 13
More than 26% of Schuylkill County residents have gotten their full vaccine dosage since they started getting administered back in December 2020. Up until now, only seniors, people with certain health risks and those in specific professions were eligible to get a vaccine.
The state says more than 2.4 million Pennsylvanians have gotten their full COVID vaccine dosage. And more than 6 million have gotten at least a first dosage.
