Businesses in Pottsville have a chance to get back some of the losses they’ve incurred during the COVID pandemic. The City, along with Pottsville Area Development Corp. have launched a grant program using some CARES Act funding Pottsville received.
There are about 10 grants available to city businesses. Grants range anywhere from $500 to a maximum $15,000.
Pottsville COVID Business Grants
To be eligible for one of the Pottsville business COVID grants, a company needs to be established for at least a year. It can’t have more than 20 employees and it must be located within the “corporate limits” of Pottsville.
Businesses interested in getting a COVID grant from the city and PADCO should complete an application and will meet all underwriting requirements and comply with job retention mandates. Applications are available on the City of Pottsville website or the PADCO website.
Here’s what eligible to be covered by a COVID grant from Pottsville:
- Machinery, furniture, fixtures, and equipment used for business purposes
- Cost(s) businesses expend on the implementation of COVID safety measures
- Working Capital including;
- Payroll
- Rent/Mortgage
- Utilities such as oil, gas, electric, water/sewer, internet, phone
- Supplies needed for day-to-day operations up to 90 days
- Insurance, accounting, legal services
- Advertising
- Inventory
Eligible expenses and losses are retroactive to April 1, 2020.
The grant application period opens on April 1. Businesses should submit their application by email to : info@pad-co.com or turn in a physical copy at the PADCO office, on the second floor at 1 S. 2nd Street, Pottsville. Grants will be awarded on a first come-first served bases.
