Paul Foose, 53 – Talented Wood Carver and Whittler

Paul Foose, 53, of Shenandoah, passed away at home on Thursday, March 18th, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Paul was born in Shenandoah, on May 26, 1967, a son of the late Alice (VanHorn) and Clarence Foose.

He was a graduate of the West Hazleton High School and Vo-Tech, where he studied masonry.

Paul last worked in the parts and tool department at Cargill in Humbolt. Prior to that, he was employed as a machine operator and maintenance man for the former Chromatex plant in Hazleton, and also could be found doing mechanic work at the former Harry’s Gulf station in Brandonville.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post 781 of Mt. Top.

When not working, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a talented wood carver and whittler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ira Foose, Alice Mae Kane and Donna Vale.

Paul is survived by a sister, Carol Garrison of Shenandoah, and a brother, Clarence Foose of Brandonville.

He is also survived by a great niece, Amber Lynn Polega, who was more like a daughter to him, and by a nephew, Eddie, who was more like a brother to him. A close nephew, Joe Polega, and wife Carrie, along with their boys PJ and Cody survive, as do many other nieces and nephews.

As per Paul’s wishes, no public services will be held.
