Lawrence Wood, 65 – Active in His Church Community

Lawrence ‘Larry” Wood, 65, of Ashland, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 following a battle with cancer.

Born in Ashland, Larry was the son of the late John L. and Margaret E. (Monaghan) Wood. Larry was a 1973 graduate of North Schuylkill Area High School/Schuylkill Technology Center – North Campus, where he studied masonry.

He began his career as a self-employed masonry contractor, also working part-time as a projectionist and lighting technician. Larry was employed for the last 37 years by St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Ashland and the former Cardinal Brennan High School, Fountain Springs.

Larry was very proud of his son and grandsons and their many accomplishments. He was an active member of his church community.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Lisa Yanetti and brother, Danny Wood. Larry is survived by his son, Larry Wood, husband of Amanda, of Muncy, Grandsons Brycen and Ashton; Stepson David Yanetti; Brothers Jack (Mary) Wood Catasaqua; Thomas (Stephanie) Pottsville; Martin (Veronica Huegel), Middleport; Nieces and nephews.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 16,2021 at 11:00 AM from St. Charles Borromeo Church, Ashland, PA. Rev. Brian Miller officiating.

Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Ashland. Visitation Tuesday 9:00-11:00 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church, Ashland,PA.
