George Semko, Jr., 66, of Tamaqua, died on Friday, March 5, 2021 in Coaldale.
He was the husband of Kathy (nee Boyle) Semko to whom he was married 48 years in February.
Born in Hazleton on October 12, 1954, George was a son of the late George and Ellen (nee Roshay) Semko.
A 1972 graduate of Marian High School, he worked for Mack Truck, Ametek, Air Products, and Nestle Purina.
George was a member of The Parish of St. John XXIII, Tamaqua and the West Penn Rod and Gun Club where he fished in the Club’s fishing derbies.
He enjoyed fishing with his family as well as hunting with them on the Broad Mountain. He could also be found watching football.
In addition to his wife, Kathy, he is survived by son, Scott D. Semko and his wife Dawn of Tamaqua; daughter, Lisa Brayford of Breinigsville, PA; grandchildren, Gavin, Grace, Emma, Lincoln, and Molly; brother, Robert Semko of Nesquehoning, PA; several nephews and nieces; and his Jack Russell, Rosie.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua. Call 12:30 – 1:30 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
