C. Wayne Bair, age 99, of Hegins, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at his residence.

He was born on Wednesday, June 22, 1921, in Tremont, a son of the late Stephen A Bair and the late Mildred (Batdorf) Bair.

He was a 1939 graduate of the former Hegins Twp. High School.

Wayne served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II.

After leaving the service he worked at the former AA Shade Egg Plant in Spring Glen, then for fourteen years as a self employed coal miner, then a farmer and timber harvester, and retired from the former Hegins Precision Division of Penn Reel.

He served as a Hegins Twp Auditor.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View.

Wayne was an avid river fisherman.

His wife Jean B (Bohner) Bair passed away in 2016. He was also preceded in death by a grandson Cody Bair.

He is survived by a daughter, Sally J Bair of Hegins; a son, David W Bair and his wife Debra of Hegins; a grandson, Kyle D Bair and his wife Kylie of Hegins; a sister, June Seiler of Hegins; a niece, Julie Maurer of Hegins; a nephew, Lane Seiler of Harrisburg; and his beloved English Cockers Lacey and Maggie.

Private services were held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating.

Burial was made in Fountain Community Cemetery.
