Lucy F. (Loftus) Boardman, 74, of Pottsville, passed away on Wednesday afternoon at Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center, Tremont.
Born in Pottsville, on February 1, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Francis Loftus, who was killed in a mining accident when Lucy was just a few months old and was raised by James Hanlon and her mother, Julia (Hoptak) Hanlon.
She was a graduate of Nativity BVM and a member of the former Mary Queen of Peace.
Lucy was a factory worker at B & J Knitting Mill and Phoenix Blouse.
She enjoyed gathering with friends and family and making people laugh. She was always the life of the party. Lucy loved the pets she had throughout the years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Boardman, who passed in 2000 and to whom she was married 37 years; and son, John Boardman, who passed September 15, 2017.
Lucy is survived by two sons Robert Boardman, of Pottsville and Michael, companion of Jacqueline Conway, of Pottsville; daughter-in-law, Stacey Boardman, of Pottsville; grandchildren: Cash, Brooke, and Bobby Boardman and Michael Teague; sister, Judy Seaman, of Pottsville; several great grandchildren; a niece and a nephew; and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Mt. Peace Cemetery, Minersville.
