Jesse T. Shay, 90, of Orwigsburg, passed away Thursday, January 14th, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem.

Jesse was born in Pottsville on December 30, 1930, a son of the late Florence (Seltzer) and Jesse Shay.

He was the widower of Sylvia Kathryn (Gruver) Shay.

Jesse was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church Schuylkill Haven, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Second Mountain Rod & Gun Club.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952 and then was employed as a Furnace Operator for the former Alcoa Plant, in Cressona, for over 40 years.

Jesse is survived by his brother, Vincent Shay, husband of Faye, of Cressona. He is also survived by his Brother-In-Law Barry Gruver, and his wife, Victoria, of Wernersville and his Sister-In-Law Gloria Wessner and her husband Ronald.

Jesse was predeceased by his siblings Dennis, Herbert, Arthur, Robert, Grace & Jean Private Religious and Military Honors Services will be held at Hamilton – Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Annville.
