Paul L. Blankenhorn, Sr., 82, of South Manheim Twp., passed away Saturday, January 16th, at Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Allentown.
Born in South Manheim Twp., on February 21, 1938, a son of the late Edith (Laubenstine) and Herman Blankenhorn.
He was the husband of Edna C. (Donton) Blankenhorn, they celebrated 62 years of marriage.
He was a member of Bethesda Evangelical Congregational Church of Reedsville and the Schuylkill Masonic Lodge, Orwigsburg Chapter.
He was employed by the shoe factory as a stitcher.
Paul loved preparing holiday dinners and having the family gather together. He enjoyed hunting, especially raccoon hunting. His favorite times were to gather with Leon and Jerry on a Friday night to play cards and to take Joey, his dog, on van rides. Paul’s door was always opened to anyone who needed it and was always ready to offer dinner or a coffee. He was a true lover of life.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Roxanne Seltzer (Terry), Friedensburg, Paul L, Jr. (Tracy), Schuylkill Haven, Rodney Blankenhorn (Almeda “Moe”) and Randall Blankenhorn (Angie), both of South Manheim Township; grandchildren Brandon (Desi), Alyssa (Rich), Kelsie (Ryan), Cassidy (Aaron), Savannah (Brandon), Brittany (Alex), Heather (Brad), Matt, Luke and Tanner; great grandchildren Brandon, Quinn, Ian, Parker, Havi, Aubrey, Daniel, Nicholas, Korbin, Lily, Paige, Ayden and two on the way; siblings Marion Bartolett, Carl “Skip” Blankenhorn, Carol Sullivan, Doris Brown, Karen Sylvester and Sharon Koch.
Paul is preceded in death by his grandson Christopher Blankenhorn and siblings Marvin, Vernon “Louie” and Harold “Butch” Blankenhorn, Emily Ney and Faye Potts.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service was held on Friday, January 22nd at Bethesda Evangelical Congregational Church of Reedsville with Rev. Mark Brooks officiating.
A viewing for family and friends was held Friday, January 22nd at Bethesda Evangelical Congregational Church of Reedsville.
At the family’s request, memorial donations may be forwarded to Bethesda Youth Ministry, 23 Meadowbrook Drive, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
Interment will be at Reedsville Cemetery.
