Ronald W. Umphrey, 77, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 6th, at his residence with his wife by his side.
Ron was born in Pottsville, on November 3, 1943, a son of the late Mary Marguerite (Mengel) and William Miller Umphrey.
He was the husband of Margaret Shirley (San Souci) Umphrey. They were married April 7th, 2015.
Ronald was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Orwigsburg and he served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War.
During his life he was employed as an Industrial Electrician, working in local Malls. Ron was an avid golfer and also enjoyed Metal Detecting.
In addition to his wife, Margaret, Ronald is survived by his daughter, Kari Richards; son, Mark Umphrey, husband of Dana Lewis-Umphrey. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Morgan Umphrey. He is preceded in death by his first wife Carol ( Rathje) Umphrey.
Private services are entrusted to the Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. Orwigsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Attn: Tribute Program, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-9959, in Ron’s memory.
