PennDOT crews will be working on several Schuylkill County road repair projects starting next week that could impact some travel times.
Road Work in Schuylkill County – November 16-20, 2020
According to PennDOT, the following projects are slated to start on Monday, Nov. 16:
Lofty Road, Kline Township
A PennDOT Maintenance force will be working between Route 309 and Hazel St. in Kline Twp. all next week. Shoulder work and widening is on the work order. Expect to see a crew working between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily. There will be a flagger present enforcing a lane restriction on Lofty Rod.
Route 61, New Castle Township
Crack sealing will happen on Route 61 in New Castle Twp. all next week, according to PennDOT. The area in focus is between Ann St. and Darkwater Rd. There will be a lane restriction in both directions while the work is completed. Crews should be on scene all next week from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Route 339, North Union Township
PennDOT will be doing some brush cutting along the highway between Brandonville Rd. and Buck Mountain Rd. all next week. Expect a lane restriction and a flagger on the scene to direct traffic. Crews should be working all week between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Berks County Road Work
Another major project that could affect Schuylkill County commuters in Berks County is the Interstate Reconstruction Project along I-78.
PennDOT says road construction between Exits 35 and 40 on the highway will be done during overnight hours, from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. There will be a 24-hour lane restriction on the highway in both directions.
Work should start on Nov. 19 and run through Nov. 23.
