A naked and inebriated Schuylkill County man had quite a Friday morning.
State Police in Frackville say 18-year-old Damian Hester decided to go wandering around Shenandoah Heights in the buff before dawn Friday, Sept. 25. They got a report of Hester roaming naked at about 6 a.m. on Virginia Avenue.
When a trooper arrived near the scene of the report, he saw a white SUV blowing through a stop sign at the end of Virginia Ave. The vehicle crossed over Swatara Road, entered the Shenandoah Heights Fire Co. parking lot and then crashed into the hosey building.
Shenandoah Heights Man Roamed Naked, Broke Into Home, Stole Vehicle, Crashed Into Hosey
Trooper Thomas Powell said he approached the crashed SUV and saw a naked man inside, crawling from the driver’s seat to the back of the vehicle.
As Powell was detaining the naked man, he says a woman came up to the scene and reported that this was her vehicle and that the naked man, Hester, had stolen it.
Hester managed to get in the woman’s SUV and moved it forward. As Hester drove forward, he hit a parked vehicle which lurched forward and hit another parked vehicle.
The woman who claimed the stolen vehicle says when she and her boyfriend heard the crash outside their house on Virginia Ave., they ran outside to stop Hester from taking their ride. They were unsuccessful and the woman reported that Hester nearly hit her boyfriend with the SUV as he attempted to get away.
Police further learned that prior to stealing that vehicle and crashing it, Hester broke into a home along Swatara Rd. It’s not reported if he was clothed at that point but the homeowner “was able to make the male leave,” police report.
After leaving that house and prior to stealing the vehicle, he allegedly jumped on another vehicle that was parked but had someone inside.
Charges Filed Against Naked Schuylkill County Man
Hester was arraigned before District Judge Anthony Kilker and sent to Schuylkill County Prison on $50,000 straight cash bail before dinner Friday.
He’ll be in court again before Kilker on Oct. 1.
Hester faces felony trespass and theft charges in addition to misdemeanor charges of DUI, reckless endangerment, indecent exposure, and criminal mischief.
