🇺🇸 Francis J. “Fritz” Schreyer, 88 – US Navy Veteran

Mr. Francis J. “Fritz” Schreyer, age 88, of Wapwallopen and formerly of Mahanoy City, died Wednesday night at the VA Medical Center in Lebanon.

Born in Mahanoy City he was the son of the late Henry and Frances (Blum) Schreyer.

He was a 1950 graduate of Mahanoy City High School and served with the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He worked for and retired from Firestone in Pottsville and was a member of American Legion Post 74 and St. Teresa of Calcutta Church both of Mahanoy City.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his first wife the former Marylou Machamer, a granddaughter Heather Manbeck, two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years Gloria Rinehimer Schreyer, 2 daughters Donna Kraft of New Orleans and Lisa Schreyer and her partner Larry Lishman of Barnesville, a grandson Richard Wellington and a great grandson Alexander Manbeck as well as nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City.

The Rev. Leo Maletz will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Fidelis Cemetery in Mahanoy Township.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday morning beginning at 9:30 AM until time of services.
