This promises to be an interesting year for high school football.
If you’re a fan of the game, you may have some trouble attending games, at least at the beginning of the season. Some schools have banned fan attendance entirely and other schools are strictly limiting attendance to just family members of players.
Schools are working feverishly ahead of Friday’s season kickoff to live stream their games so fans can watch and follow their favorite teams. We’re monitoring any potential live streams of games and we’ll share whatever we find on game days.
2020 Schuylkill League Football Schedules
One big thing you’ll notice about the 2020 high school football season in the coal region is that it’s going to be an all Schuylkill League schedule … well, for the most part. This was supposed to be the start of the Schuylkill-Colonial League partnership in football but the pandemic foiled those plans for 2020.
Instead, you’re going to see some fascinating and rarely seen matchups on the gridiron, including a doozy for Week 1 when Pottsville faces Nativity BVM. The teams often meet up in other sports but on the football field is another matter. The tragedy here is that this game would probably pack the stands with fans but this year, you won’t be able to find a ticket if you tried.
Schedules are constantly changing as some districts are forced to postpone games as they deal with potential outbreaks of COVID-19.
We’ll also do our best to track these changes in schedules but we’ve prepared schedules for all Schuylkill League teams.
