Charges Filed in Barry Township Knife Fight
This is what police say allegedly happened in the overnight hours of August 13 …
Two roomates, living at Orchard Drive in Barry Township, got involved in a verbal argument that turned physical. The fight broke out at about 2:45 a.m. that night.
One roommate, an unnamed 33-year-old, says Glaviano grabbed a knife during the fight and attempted to stab him. The roommate says at that point he was forced to try and defend himself.
Glaviano says the roommate was assaulting him repeatedly and wouldn’t stop. So, he says he grabbed a knife and attempted to defend himself.
The unnamed roommate suffered a laceration injury on his arm, policy say. Glaviano was banged up on his head and face as a result of the fracas.
At some point during the brouhaha, a third roommate arrived home and saw the other two fighting in the front yard. He attempted to break up the fight. The third roommate and the unnamed roommate in the fight tried to flee the scene but Glaviano stabbed a tire on the third roommate’s vehicle.
Police say they’ve filed charges against both roommates but a court records search only turned up a result for Glaviano.
He faces a second-degree felony charge for aggravated assault as well as misdemeanor charges of assault and reckless endangerment and a summary charge of harassment.
Bail for Glaviano was set at $75,000 and he’s due before District Judge David Rossi for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 17.
We’ll monitor this incident for future charges filed.
