Police in New Philadelphia want to know who’s been laying rubber lately. People are calling in to police HQ and complaining.
In a post to Facebook early Saturday morning – like around 1:30 a.m. early – New Philadelphia PD took to its Facebook page to ask for the public’s help identifying the burnout bandit.
Burnout Bandit in New Philly
The post from New Philadelphia Police went live at 1:24 a.m. Saturday, to be exact.
“We have had several complaints about someone (laying rubber) doing burnouts at stop signs here in and around the borough,” police say.
We enjoy how New Philly police use two phrases for doing a burnout. You’ve got laying rubber or doing burnouts. Other acceptable synonymous phrases include:
- Peeling rubber
- Peeling out
- Burning rubber
- Laying a patch
Trouble is, police don’t know who this serial burnout specialist is.
“We are currently asking of the community’s help. If you witness or have witnessed this act. Please report it. As always your reporting will remain anonymous. Thank you in advance and for your support to live in a safe community,” police in New Philadelphia say.
