Lisa A. Lickman, 58 – Business Owner, Educator

Lisa A. Lickman, 58, of Orwigsburg, passed away on Wednesday, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, with her loving family by her side.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on March 22, 1962 to Ronald Lickman of Port Carbon and Barbara (Quinn) Lickman of Orwigsburg.

She received her Master’s degree in Economics from Hunter College, NYC.

Lisa was co-owner of the family business, SDL Construction, Orwigsburg,

She was instrumental in developing an inclusion program in education for autistic children and was very active with the PTA and local politics in Brooklyn.

In March 2001, Lisa received the Woman of the Year award from FIAO of Brooklyn, NY.

She was preceded in death by brother, Ronald Lickman, in 2014.

Lisa, aka “Frita”, is survived by her husband, James W. Palamara, to whom she was married for 35 years. She is also survived by her son, Andrew John Palamara, (husband of Celine Schrier), of Reading ; daughter, Caitlin Rose Palamara, of Orwigsburg; two sisters, Lori Quinn “Fratie”,( wife of Dustin Smith), of Pottsville; Lynn Lickman “Frintie”, of Schuylkill Haven; brother, Quinn Lickman “Fikie”, of Orwigsburg; mother, Barbara (Quinn) Lickman, of Orwigsburg; father, Ronald Lickman, of Port Carbon; her dearly loved mother-in-law, Virginia Funiciello; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Due to recent lung cancer research, we were blessed that Lisa’s life was extended by two years. The family would be especially grateful for donations to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233 Pottsville, PA 17901.
