Edna G. Brower, 85 – Worked in Local Garment Industry

Edna G. Brower, 85, Myerstown formerly of Pottsville entered into eternal rest Wednesday morning at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Pottsville June 16, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Arthur “Art” H. and Kathryn (Conrad) Brower.

She was a 1953 graduate of Pottsville High School. She was a member of Grace EC Church, Schuylkill Haven. She served and taught Sunday School from the age of 16 to the age of 80.

Edna retired in 2005 from the local garment industry after having been employed by the former Van Huesan Corp.; the former Pine Shirt; and the former Fessler/Meck Knitting Mill. Even though she retired she never lost her passion for sewing. She was often sought out by the residents of Stoneridge Retirement Community, Myerstown.

She will be deeply missed by her friends and relatives including her brother Walter C. Brower husband of Brenda, Shillington; her sister Joyce Dresch wife of Charles, Annville; aunts Betty Gerber and Mary Brown both of Pottsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 11 o’clock Monday August 3 on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Pastor Ted Rathman will officiate.

The family would prefer donations be made in Edna’s memory to either Grace EC Church 15 Earl Stoyer Road Schuylkill Haven PA 17972 or 440 East Lincoln Ave. Myerstown PA 17067.

Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home 515 West Market Street Pottsville has been entrusted with arrangements. Please visit schlitzerallenpugh.com to leave a condolence for the Brower family.
